Tax free shopping in Great Britain ending on 1st January 2021

We regret to inform Wevat users that the UK government has decided to end tax free shopping in Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales) from 1st January 2021. This means that goods bought by overseas visitors in Great Britain after 31 December 2020 and taken home in luggage will no longer be eligible for a VAT refund.

For new Wevat users: Due to this policy change, Wevat will be unable to accept any new users from 1 October 2020.

For current Wevat users: You can still upload receipts and/or qualifying business invoices for shopping from now until 31 December 2020 (inclusive) for a tax refund with Wevat. During this period, Wevat will be on hand to facilitate your UK tax refund.
